Our music is described as modern scandinavic jazz, which have a strong influence of Pop and Finnish folk music. The repertoire of the band is fully based on own compositions where you can hear a strong affection of wilderness and find out our roots in the nature of Northern Finland. The second Kuru album: Enemmän (More) has been released on 12.09.2012 where Kuru presents new reformed line up. The fundamental idea of this album has been to compose brand new music to touching and partly heart-rending poems, which are created by Finnish masters of the poetry like Uuno Kailas, Kaarlo Sarkia, Yrjö Jylhä, Aleksis Kivi, Eino Leino, Lauri Pohjanpää, Aale Tynni. F.F. Brummer. In addition to that there will be one translation of Yrjö Weijola from Gustaf Frödings poem. Even if Kuru has reformed the common endeavor has been to preserve Kuru’s unique sound and you can still find the wild Finnish soul-scape combined with a strong interpretation of Mari Leppävuori from the compositions.
