简介
Visit www.NoNaJonesMusic.com for more information! Behind the Mic NoNa Jones is not the typical gospel singer. Before launching her gospel music career, she attained national prominence as a rising star for her work as a Federal and State (Florida) lobbyist in the energy industry. Her professional success led to her being profiled by several major publications including ESSENCE Magazine as an "Under 40" Woman to Watch, Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida's 30-Something "All Stars," Business in the Heart of Florida Magazine as a "40 Under 40 Community Leader," and Home Magazine for being a "13 Under 30 Community Leader." The American Public Power Association designated her as a rising star and future leader of public utilities in the United States of America. Despite her professional success and recognition in the corporate world, NoNa considers her call to the gospel ministry as her most important assignment. NoNa holds, both, a Bachelor degree and Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida. Her professional experience spans, both, the private sector and public sector, including working as the News Director of a multi-format radio station (R&B, Country, and Gospel spanning FM and AM). She has been honored as a "Woman Who Makes a Difference" by the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council and was recognized as a University of Florida Outstanding Young Alumnus. She is a member of Leadership Florida, Leadership Gainesville, the Gainesville Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, Gainesville Women's Forum, and the Women's Giving Circle. Her board service includes Girl Scouts of Gateway Council (President), Education Foundation of Alachua County (President), and PACE Center for Girls State Board of Trustees (Vice Chair), among many others. The Ministry NoNa Jones began her music ministry at the Mandarin Church of God of Prophecy (Jacksonville, Florida) at the tender age of 11 when she was set-apart as a lead psalmist. As her gift for music ministry developed and matured, she was appointed as a praise and worship leader. While serving in that capacity, the Lord revealed a divine ability for her to play the piano by ear. She continued serving in music ministry after the Lord led her to join One Accord Gospel Temple (Jacksonville, Florida), where she was licensed into the gospel ministry at the age of 17. After her licensure, Minister NoNa Jones moved to Gainesville, Florida to attend the University of Florida. While in college, she served as a praise and worship leader in several congregations in North Central Florida before assuming the role of music department director for Open Door Ministries. Today, NoNa Jones serves the Lord and His people as a preacher, psalmist, musician, and songwriter. The Sound NoNa Jones infuses soul, jazz, and urban influences to create a contemporary sound that remains true to her nature as a worshipper. She is a versatile singer who enjoys accessorizing songs with riffs and runs while allowing the smoothness of her signature vibrato to anchor each note. Her expansive vocal range includes, both, tenor and soprano capabilities; however, she prefers her lower register and is often likened to fellow contraltos Lalah Hathaway and Jessica Reedy. As a songwriter, NoNa's catalogue includes traditional gospel, worship, urban contemporary, Christian contemporary, and more. Her diverse influences include Kim Burrell, Chris Tomlin, Cece Winans, Yolanda Adams, Donnie McClurkin, Beverly Crawford, Byron Cage, Amy Grant, Hillsong, Planet Shakers, and many more. After much encouragement from supporters of her music ministry, NoNa is set to release her highly anticipated debut album, "Take Me," a 6-song EP, in the summer of 2014.
