Contraption (2000-2002): Jay Wilder (Guitar/Vocals) Todd Stoops (Keyboards/Vocals) Daniel Lotito (Bass/Vocals) Michael Herrman (Drums/Percussion) As the name indicates, this band and album took a very eclectic approach to writing in multiple styles and crossing over genres. No longer performing, this studio album represents the record of a talented group of friends and musicians that focused on song writing and live performances across the New England college and club circuit. Equal measures of technical execution and good taste were the musical goal of this outfit. Influences included Steely Dan, Phish, The Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle, Sting/The Police, and elements of Folk/Jazz/Progressive styles.
