简介
Born out of the vibrant college based community that is Harrisonburg, Virginia, Strong Water has experienced life as a project like most bands. Members have come and gone, the sound has changed slightly and matured as those involved have matured, but the vision and high-energy performances which have been an iconic part of the group since its inception in early 2013, still remains the same. What originally started as a duo, swelled to become a six piece before settling on it's now-three dedicated members whose high energy performance is built on strong Male and Female lead vocals supported by harmonies, driving Acoustic/Electric Guitar and Banjo parts, well crafted melodic Fiddle lines, and rounded out by tasteful Drums/Percussion, and Bass Guitar. Strong Water's eclectic collection of original songs contain sounds and influences from genres such as Bluegrass & Blues, to their personal spin on Americana and Folk-Rock, incorporating styles from bands and artists such as Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers, Noah Gundersen, The Lone Bellow, and Judah & the Lion. Despite major lineup changes immediately following their independently funded, recorded, and released 14 track Debut LP in April, 2016, Strong Water has hit the ground running. With a fast growing list of performances throughout the Mid-Atlantic, the band has been able to open for "On the Rise" and household name national and regional acts such as The SteelDrivers, Judah & The Lion, The Last Bison, Devon Gilfillian, Lucy Dacus, Old Salt Union, Boy Named Banjo, and many more. Their brand new single "Bearfoot," is a strong kick off to the next chapter for the band as the single's more mature and cohesive sound signifies a more collaborative approach to writing. Integrating rich and nostalgic lyrics alongside warm and rustic sounding instrumentation, the new single weaves a tale of endless summer days gone by. The single is only a glimpse of the band's new record which is set to release in early 2018.
