简介

"Sab kuch milega" is Super Deluxe´ third album. The title is Hindi and means "everything is possible, everything is available." It was recorded mostly in Bali, but the title track was recorded in Goa and "Jay Shiva Shankara" in Delhi. Me, Bjørn Årstad Seyffarth alias Vasudev is the main man through it all. I should probably get somebody else to write this, but here I am in Hyderabad and I want to get the album out there! "Mahadev" is very much a coming together of my different styles of music - bhajans and reggae. It was recorded in Antida Studio along with "I love my life," "This moment," "Happy go lucky," and "After a high." Studio musicians on these tracks were Bogie Prasetyo on drums and Doddy Sambodo on bass. We managed to record six tracks in real time with no prior rehearsal. Great musicians! The bass line on "Mahadev" came from Satgyan Fukuda. Eva Cederblad added her mridanga and high notes in the chorus. "Sab kuch milega" is my love song to Arambol, Goa. It was recorded in a studio in Goa, just a bit further south, with Danish Robin Mattuck on midi keyboard (that I turned into an accordion), Russian Taras Ro on bass, and Israeli Lior Belaish on drums. And, Joy Tyson (US). What a crew!!! And, we had our very own Indian street musician, Narayan Nath, on the snake charmer flute. I actually changed the tuning for the whole track to accommodate that flute in F#. I have included some of Niko´s (Nicholas Ostis) poetry in the bridge. Thank you for letting me use your words, brother!! You are such an essential and beautiful part of the scene in Arambol! Joy Tyson first recorded her unique voice on "Sab kuch milega." Later she showed up in Bali and added her magic to "Mahadev," "I love my life," "This moment," and "Happy go lucky." One day on a beach restaurant in Gili Air, an island off the coast of Lombok, Indonesia, I randomly connected with a group of local musicians as I was about to play for the Burning Island Festival. I included them in my gig, and I was simply blown away by the lead singer Lyta Lautner. On this album she sings on "I love my life," "This moment," and "After a high." "I love my life" initially was a song about my life in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, but by Indian request I made it more universal. Bogie, Doddy, Joy, Lyta and Racka Bintara are all on this track. Deny Surya at Antida did the final mix after major input from Racka Bintara and Simon Cotsworth who also made a pop version of the song.... that may or may not be released ;-) Both Racka and Deny have put in hours of creativity and devotion into these recordings as very competent sound engineers and musicians. "Jay Shiva Shankara" is a traditional Baul chant sung by Madhusudan and his wife Jayanti. I turned the melody and the rhythm around, but otherwise let them do their thing. We met in Delhi last year at Zorba the Buddha´s dance festival over New Year´s, Nataraj. We recorded the track in real time in a very basic studio in Delhi. Joseph, the sound engineer also plays bass. Later I asked the crew at Antida Studio to add their voices to the chorus. That was a good day! "Saraswati" is a different story. I wanted to include the Balinese culture and deep devotion on this track. I found Kadek Wiadnyana who plays the suling (flute) and does Kecak as well. Mudiani Anjani is the Balinese woman with the amazing voice. This track was co-produced with Rob Weber in Ubud, Bali. I Wayan Krishna Candra plays bass on "Saraswati" and came up with the bass line to "I love my life." He is a unique genius that also is the artist behind the cover design for our previous album "Jah Bless!" and the single "Saraswati." His good friend, Komang Priatna Suardi, plays drums on "Saraswati. Rico Mantrawan is on keyboard. An all Balinese crew!! Maneesh de Moore added his magic keys to "This moment." We were hanging out after I just came back from a session in Antida Studio, I played him the track, he liked it and simply put a few layers of keyboard for me to put into the mix. I love it! The song came to me one night at Gili Air playing on a crappy guitar I borrowed from a local guy. I was fortunately present enough to record it on my phone. "Happy go lucky" is one of those songs I wrote back in 2006 but never recorded until now. Joy does an amazing job with her improvisations! The bass line came from Fredrik Finckenhagen and Isa Karlsson came up with the little vocal melody line in the chorus that Joy sings. Bogie was very surprised when I asked him to play brushes on the drums for a reggae track. Well, whatever we call, it is just music. "After a high" would not be the same without piano.Stefan Benedictzen is a big hearted musician who gave the song that special touch. The cover art on this album was by Choqy Satria. I had the idea ready in my mind, but he took it further! It takes a lot of people to make something seemingly simple as an album. There are probably many more people somehow involved in small or big ways that made this possible that I might have forgotten to mention. I am grateful for your contribution all the same! Jah Bless!!! Hari Om! Vasudev
