Kathryn Luxford is a singer-songwriter from the New England Tablelands Region of New South Wales, Australia and at just thirteen years of age she has been recognized for already writing and performing some outstanding works. Kathryn is no ordinary singer/songwriter and has already gained the attention of many in the music industry. Not because she fits neatly into a genre, but because she has her own fresh new style. At many events she has been favourably compared to musicians such Taylor Swift, Shakira, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Courtney Barnett to name a few. Kathryn was an early beginner on guitar at five and has been writing songs since the age of eight. At nine she entered her first talent quest (and won the under eighteens section) and since has performed in talent quests throughout northern New South Wales and Southern Queensland winning many awards including both CCMA National Talent Quest and Mt Franklin Talent Quests at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, also Inverell’s Got Talent and this year also partnered with Belle Smith to win the Busking Championships at the Australian Celtic Festival. Kathryn however has not limited herself to talent quests, and over the past three years, she has been building a following having performed at showcase events at festivals throughout the region.
