简介
Criss Cross Mangosauce combines traditional Latin rhythms with classic American children rhymes. This CD also introduces a beautiful sing-along story. Children (and adults) will enjoy the vibrant sound of exotic congas, a traditional Venezuelan cuatro and castanets (among other instruments). At the sound of “Doy Vueltas/I am Turning”, children will move, jump and dance all around. With “Cinco Monitos/ Five Little Monkeys”, children will dance salsa and play the popular monkey rhyme. And be ready to be surprised with the new Caribbean “Hokey Pokey” ! Our story: From Apples to Mangos Once upon a time there were three bilingual parents… Irania Macías Patterson and Ana Lucia Divins met in 2004. After several conversations over Colombian coffee in a local Charlotte coffee shop, they decided to combine their passions and talents to create a very exciting project called: “Criss Cross Mangosauce”. Fred Figueroa was one of the first friends that Ana Lucia met when she moved to the United States, they were members of a Latin rock band in Charlotte and they sang together for about a year. Nobody else could have been the “music guru” of this adventure but Fred Figueroa... And along came "Criss Cross Mangosauce". Their first CD was launched in 2007. Since then, they have introduced their music to hundreds of educators, children and families of North Carolina. In 2008, these artists received funds of the Arts and Science Council (ASC) from their Latino Initiative to implement the initiative: “Criss Cross Mangosauce: Bridging Cultures through Bilingual Music” with the objective of introducing the bilingual and bicultural music of this CD as a unique educational tool for teachers, children and their families. Today, these passionate artists continue using their talents to connect cultures with their high quality music. And they know, this is just the beginning of the story...
