Dennis Genovese was signed by Clive Davis to Columbia Records at age 18. Around 1973 he began recording with Karen Mantero. Being an arranger, songwriter and musician he consequently began producing artists of varying styles as well as independent productions of his own and Karen's, his lifetime songwriting partner. Karen and Dennis opened their first commercial recording studio in 1980 in Hicksville Long Is. N. Y. Fans have commented that their songs are not pigeonholed by style and remain fresh and innovative.
