简介
Mike Bauer is a singer-songwriter and independent recording artist, as well as a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, trumpet, piano), and has been noted for his distinctive voice. He comes from a musically-influenced household, where he began singing at an early age while growing up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His grandfather was a singer and tap-dancer on "The Lawrence Welk Show" in the 1950s, his father was a big band singer, and his sister is a professional cellist. He credits the strong foundation and support of his family, specifically his mother and grandfather, with giving him the drive he needed to propel his music career forward - bringing him where he is today. So far in 2014, Mike has been working on "Financial Aid, Vol. 3," the final LP in the three-part series, which has been a collaborative effort with his band-mates and other featured guest artists. "Sugar" - the first single from the upcoming album and what he calls "an anthem for single people" - was released on February 14, accompanied by a steamy music video by Year 8 Productions, directed by Nanea Miyata. On top of that, he has additional music videos in the works and has played numerous live shows, including opening for 1971 Billboard chart topper Honey Cone as they reunited for a show at The Mint in March. "I always envisioned this musical adventure as a three-part series that helps me build a solid musical and artistic community, while showing off how I've grown through collaborating with those I’ve met along the way," Mike said. "For the last volume in the series, I’m trying to create an old school Motown vibe with a modern twist, and having a lot of fun in the process."
