DREMORA was a female-fronted symphonic metal project from Los Angeles, CA that mashed thrashy metal guitars with classical symphonic orchestration, then polished it with female operatic rock vocals and snarling male gutturals. The project formed in 2006, and after a CD release followed by international airplay was retired in 2008. In late 2009 the original founder moved on to form a full 6pc band of the same genre, but under a different name. The new act will debut in spring 2011. "Martyrs" has been described by its fans as similar to Nightwish, Epica, After Forever, Therion, Tristania, Dream Theater, and Megadeth. The Martyrs EP is a limited production Digipak format CD, containing 4 songs with dark-themed art and lyrics. It is the only release from Dremora. It was released internationally on August 3rd, 2007, and has a total running time of 22:48. Currently out of production, it is only available in physical format as supplies last. Dremora was also part of two compilation albums. 'A World of Sirens' released August 2008 by Sonic Cathedral & Nuclear Blast, and 'Ferocity and Femininity' released July 2008 by Anthem Records NL. Track 2 "Martys and Madmen" has old school thrashy downtuned guitars and operatic vocals so powerful during the chorus that it gives goosebumps; it's themed after the fight against terrorism and delivers a powerful message. Track 3 "Fair Haven" invokes a journey towards a wonderful sanctuary we would all like to find, with its extensive use of celtic panpipe flutes and heavy strings that build the aura of peace and tranquility--until the heavy thrash riffing and grunting vocal descends upon the unsuspecting voyager and shreds the fragile illusion.
