The song is inspired by my co-worker as well as by my sister who remain strong independent women. The spark of the song was my co-worker's being late for the first work day of the year, which was also a day when employee's in Québec are paid over time. Vanessa was extremely nonchalant about having missed out on some employment revenue because she was out partying the night before. Did I mention that her alarm went off at 7 am instead of at 5 am - the time that she would normally have to be up at in order to get to work on time?
