Songwriter / Activist Brian Gardner originally composed "The Men and the Women of the Red, White and Blue" for a 4th of July celebration he was performing at. Then, with the 10th Anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 coming up in 2011, Gardner added a verse in remembrance to those that worked that day to save lives and who lost their lives that day.

Gardner has joined up with Heroes Healthfund, an organization which offers an intensive detoxification process for 9/11 survivors, U.S. Service Men and Women, Firefighters and Police officers who have been exposed to or who have ingested toxins, in the line of duty. To date more than 500 firefighters and first responders involved with the 9/11 disaster have gone through this detox program. Gardner urges anyone hearing his song to spread the word to family, friends and both social and business contacts, so that even more donations can be made to help those that help us and who save lives everyday.
