Jean Gerard Junior JOSEPH, known professionally as Geraldo, was born on June 11, 1990 in Port-au-Prince- Haiti, where he grew up. He is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. Geraldo grew up in a loving family where art is a passion everyone shares, and very young, he shows interest for music. Convinced of his talent, his father offers his very first guitar as a way to encourage him to follow his passion as a singer along with his academic studies as education is a core value in the family. After high school, he studied Business Administration, in an attempt to join his passion for both music and business. In 2009, Geraldo participated at “Digicel Stars”, the largest singing competition in Haiti. Often considered as a challenger, he made it to the final and received the second prize. In July 2010, he participated in "Pòtoprens 2020" a singing competition organized by the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) with “Rèv pam” to promote the beauty of his hometown Port-au-Prince and encourage the involvement of all the Haitians in the reconstruction of the devastated city after the earthquake of January 12, 2010 where the artist himself came out surviving. His music with deep text is selected among the top five and will be used as background music in the media to show the reconstruction project of Port-au-Prince. He did not give up and will participate in 2016 in a new edition of Digicel Stars, where the contestants are former winners from 2007 to 2015. This time, Geraldo wins the first prize. He began a musical career with titles like “Prekosyon pa kapon”, “Tout Bagay Pou vou” , “M'pap prese” (adaptation of Despacito in Creole), “Colors” (adaptation of the world cup 2018 song in Creole) and “Rèv pam”.
