简介
Crafted from jazz and folk traditions and contemporary genre blends, Laura Reznek's music is characterized by dusky, ethereal vocals, and the bold instrumentation of downtempo cabaret pop. Her lyrics draw on history, memory, and philosophy, and they sing of a tangled internal world, and the things that keep us up at night—storms and cityscapes, guilt and ghosts. Music has been a part of her life from a very young age. Classically trained on violin, Laura trained herself to excel at piano by covertly listening in on her brother’s piano lessons, imitating by ear the songs he’d learned that day. At the age of 17, she moved to Paris on her own to write the material for what would become her first album. In 2014, she released her debut album, Who Came Before Us. Shortly after the release, Laura alighted in London where she has spent the past few years - writing music, touring the country (both solo and as a session violinist for Lucy Spraggan) as well as learning to tune pianos in a ramshackle piano repair shop in Camden Town.
