简介
Since age 3, Kyle Ledson has embraced acoustic bluegrass music as his very best friend. Mostly self taught, Kyle has learned the secret tricks to make the mandolin sing. Kyle started writing his own toe-tapping tunes coupled with his crafty lyrics when he was just 8 years old. Now, with the support of his mentors, friends, and most notably his parents, he hopes to fulfill his lifelong dream to become a successful traveling musician. 14-year-old Kyle Ledson and his 8-string mandolin entered the recording studio for the first time in 2016 at Tiny Telephone Recording in San Francisco. Nat Keefe, Guitarist from Hot Buttered Rum, produced Kyle's first 7 song EP. Bryan Horne (Hot Buttered Rum) played on standup bass named "Dark Chocolate." Erik Yates (Hot Buttered Rum) joined in on banjo and dobro. Zebulon Bowles (Hot Buttered Rum) played his 5-string fiddle. Nat Keefe & Jeff Ledson backed up Kyle on guitar. Kyle also got to play one of his bluegrass duets, "Road Signs," with the incredibly talented, Molly Tuttle, now living in Nashville. Molly was playing on a 1948 Martin Guitar. And finally, a few tracks feature the heavenly vocals of the T Sisters. Big thank you also goes out to our amazing sound engineer, Jacob Winik. It was really a dream come true for Kyle Ledson and we are super grateful and feel extremely blessed for the entire experience. (This album was recorded in analog at 432Hz). Kyle Ledson would like to personally thank and acknowledge the talented musicians that have influenced his life in music. Topping his list would have to be Chris Thile & the Punch Brothers, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Sam Bush, Bill Monroe, Hot Buttered Rum, Tim O'Brien, Del McCoury, John Hartford, Larry Keel, Peter Rowan, Nickel Creek, Trampled By Turtles, the Grateful Dead, Brothers Comatose, Yonder Mountain String Band, Greensky Bluegrass, the Deadly Gentlemen, Old Crow Medicine Show, Steep Canyon Rangers, the Infamous Stringdusters, Hot Rize, the Devil Makes Three, Phish, Cadillac Sky, Sleepy Man Banjo Boys, Molly Tuttle, John Mailander, Keith Little, Drew Emmitt, Mike Marshall, Robert Bowden, Frank Solivan, Chris Henry, Jake Jolliff, the California Bluegrass Association (CBA), and the Kids on Bluegrass (KOB) program just to name a few. Thank you all for sharing your gift of music with me and the rest of the world.
