Czech dream-pop / indie-folk duo teepee share a new music video of the song ‘Closer’ together with new techno remix of the song from Affect!. teepee first appeared on the Czech independent music scene in 2015. A high school in the Bohemian city of Pilsen provided the backdrop to the spellbinding collaboration between singer-acoustic guitarist Miroslav Patočka and singer-electric guitarist Tereza Lavička-Sladká. Taking to stages across the Czech Republic teepee immediately began making waves with their mesmerizing performances, and that quickly solidified their position as a band to see. Their first album ‘Albatross’ was released in 2016, and the more intimate EP ‘Mirrors’ swiftly followed in March 2017. teepee's sound is defined by captivating vocal harmonies, with Miroslav’s gentle acoustic guitar enhanced by fragile notes from Tereza’s electric guitar. Subtle samples and synthetic sounds provide a bed for their melancholic, confessional English lyrics - with elements of their sound drawing parallels to the likes of Daughter, Bon Iver, and Aurora. In addition, the band is accompanied by a duo of two astonishing musicians, drummer Antonín Procházka and multi-instrumentalist Prokop Korb. The song ‘Closer’ is a part of their newly released album 'Where the Ocean Breaks' that was recorded at the Aurora Studios in Vienna together with producer Tom O. Marsh. It was released in January 2020 under the Berlin label Springstoff. Their most successful single ‘No Reason’ was featured on a popular Youtube channel Mr Suicide Sheep, reaching over 250 thousand plays to date, before being added to Spotify's Indie Radar Playlist. Overall, tepee have by now gathered over 500 thousand Spotify streams.
