简介
With a commanding vocal presence and a knack for writing songs that tug at the heartstrings Swedish singing sensation Camilla combines exquisite taste, cultivated musical chops and charismatic beauty to create a truly irresistible package.. At 26 years old, she has already achieved success as a professional model and actress, as well as devoting time to caring for disabled children. Though she is proud of these accomplishments, Camilla never lost sight of her main focus and lifelong love: music. Channeling experiences both observed and lived through, Camilla has put together an impressive array of material and has slowly began to share it with the world. And the world seems to have taken notice. Her heartfelt lullaby “Better Place”, written after she learned of the tragically premature passing of a child stricken with Epidermolysis Bullosa, captured the thoughts of a nation and comforted those who mourned. The song served as the theme to the 2006 documentary on the child and the disease and has been featured on Europeon TV. It also catapulted Camilla to the top twenty list on MySpace music, besting the likes of Usher and Ashlee Smpson. With a full length album and international tour dates set for 2007, Camilla is poised for success on a grand scale. Born in Emmaboda, Sweden to parents who were musically inclined, Camilla took an early interest in all things creative. Dancing, singing and plunking away at any instrument she could get her hands on, Camilla made her intentions clear at a young age. Her first stab at songwriting came at the age of six when she combined the names of her mother’s perfume bottles and wrote a melody to go with them. Her years of relentless practice have led to proficiency in singing, piano, multiple styles of dance and composition. During her adolescent years , Camilla performed at various functions and in many competitions, including a nationally televised talent show, in which she placed fourth. She was the only contestant to write her own song her own material; as all the other contestants had professional songwriters write their numbers. Academically Camilla applied the same tenacity that she put into her music. She majored in language in high school and is able to speak five different languages fluently. She also entered and graduated from the Scandinavian Academy of Fitness Education and became one of the youngest certified personal trainers in her country. In the midst of her busy academic schedule she was also signed to W Models International, which would kick off her acting and modeling career. After completing high school, Camilla’s sights were set on America and its myriad amount of musical opportunities. She moved to Northern California, where she continued honing her skills by studying opera with renowned instructors like Frank Thompson and Barbara Bonney. Her 2002 signing to the top talent agency, The Burton Group, prompted a move to Los Angeles and a year and a half of high profile acting and modeling jobs. Among them were appearances in music videos for Murder Inc. and Tatu, as well as various add campaigns. Through all of it Camilla never lost her desire to make music and in 2004 she enrolled in the Vocal Institute of Technology at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute. Injuries and illnesses plagued her throughout the 18 month program, but she refused to give up and enthusiastically honed her skills, gleaming all she could from her classes and networking with her fellow students. Her list of accolades continued to grow as well with her winning of the school’s Artist Development Contest. In response to her performance and material, Warner Brothers A&R rep Nick Haussling said “Camilla has every quality that you look for in an artist.“ Camilla’s completion of the VIT program was capped off by her being named Outstanding Student, an award decided on by MI instructors. Recently Camilla has been taking the final steps towards launching her career. She has written with acclaimed songwriter Robin Randall, who has written hits for ABBA as well as the TV show Baywatch. She has also surrounded herself with an array of talented musicians in both the studio and on stage. Her album, due in early 2007, is being produced and engineered by noted knob turner Doug Kern, whose work with Brian McKnight, Lenny Kravitz and 98 * has earned him praise from industry insiders and critics alike. Through adversity and through success, from the snow covered Swedish hills to the sun bathed California coast, Camilla has vehemently pursued her dreams of musical greatness. The prolific combination of her talent, desire, personality and beauty will take her beyond where even her dreams see her going.
