Philadelphia-based electronic artist and multi-hyphenate Matthew Law formally announces his debut RUMBLE EP. Creating unifying tones for people of disparate experiences, Matthew Law has engineered an ecosystem that provides space for listeners from all walks of life to unite and move their bodies in a synchronous display of unbridled joy. RUMBLE offers a window into Law’s creative evolution from DJ to solo artist and personal ideals through vivid sonic illustrations. Matthew is a torchbearer for Philly’s rich, party rocking legacy cemented by DJs Jazzy Jeff, Cash Money, Questlove and King Britt. One of the region’s eminent selectors, Law was exposed to an array of musical styles during childhood – from Classical to Avant-Garde Jazz, Psych Rock, Funk, and most notably Hip-Hop and House. He draws upon this vast musical knowledge and his b-boy background as an artist on this project. Law prioritizes the warmth of analog recordings through his brand of sample- based production, which is a mix of club, broken beat and soulful house. Law issues this sonic call to action with the ultimate goal of achieving transformative change while engineering a safe space for people from all walks of life to sweat out what ever ails them.
