简介
Chucky Boy Chock and Friends 1. We Worship the Lord Together 4:50 Chucky Boy Chock/Robbie Kaholokula This song was written for one of the island wide Praise Concert. Chucky really likes to see the churches come together, hence the song title. Recorded on an Alesis ADAT, transferred to a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software, remixed on Garage Band with a MacBook. On drums is Tim Mira. Jonathan Leong on bass. David Leong on keyboards. Jon Sugibayashi on alto sax. Tom Beck, and Barry Miyasato on trumpet. Candice Teshima on tenor sax. Brass lines were reinforced by Roland JV-90. 2. Alleluia Jesus 3:46 Chucky Boy Chock Chucky 09 I think this song was written for one of our Easter services at Kauai Bible Church. Guitar - Chucky Boy Chock. Jonathan Leong on bass. David Leong on keyboards. Recorded on Garage Band with a Mac Powerbook. 3. One True God 2:59 The first time I remember hearing this song was after a Bible study at Chucky’s house. He pulled out his guitar and asked me what I thought of this song. Immediately I recognized the strong melody line and thought it could have possibilities. Somehow I got the inspiration to arrange this song in 4 part harmony. After Robbie, Kimo and Chucky and I learned our parts, the song really kicked. Their performance actually is superior to the recording that I made. This recording started off as a way to teach everyone their parts. I started singing everyone’s part individually into Audiodesk. Just for fun I thought would try to see what all the parts sounded like together, since I had done the work of recording each part individually. Some parts sounded horrible and others mixed quite well. I guess the good parts were inspiring enough for me to record another track of each part, to see if I could smooth out the dissonant harmonies. Well after much editing and multiple takes, what you hear is the result. Like I said, the original quartet was much better, I thought. Anyway, when I played the results for Robbie, he was inspired enough to sing over the top of the track. Vocals - Robbie Kaholokula, David Leong, Jessica Leong Recorded on a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software and Garage Band. 4. He is Jesus 3:34 Chucky Boy Chock Chucky originally recorded this song without a click track. Even without the click track, Chucky’s timing is great. However, when I tried to add the other instruments, the timing felt very loose. In order to share it with the public I knew we had to tighten up the feel. So I had to import the song, track by track into the latest version of Garage Band and painstakingly spliced the recordings to fit the timing template. Anyway, the result was a much more even timing and relaxed feel. Recorded on an Alesis ADAT, transferred to a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software, remixed on Garage Band with a MacBook. 5. One Mighty God 3:40 This song became very popular with our congregation at Kauai Bible Church. The melody is simple and easy to pick up. It is worshipful and focuses on the names of God. Many people in the congregation felt that other churches might want to use it in their worship services. This became yet another reason to put this album out and share it on iTunes. Vocals - Kimo Kaholokula, Chucky Boy Chock, David Leong, Robbie Kaholokula. Recorded at Pua Olena Studio in Kauai, Hawaii. Music arranged by Robbie Kaholokula and David Leong. Engineered and mixed by Robbie Kaholokula. Sequencer programming by Robbie Kaholokula. Bass guitar played by Robbie Kaholokula. 6. Dear Jesus 4:06 Chucky Boy Chock This was written for one of our Praise Concerts. Chucky felt to compose a song about writing a letter to God. 7. I Wanna Glorify and Praise Sweet Jesus 4:44 Chucky Boy Chock This song was written for one of the island wide Praise Concert. It has a strong hook and should be popular with many. This is one of Chucky’s favorites. On drums is Tim Mira. Jonathan Leong on bass. David Leong on keyboards and back up vocals. Recorded on an Alesis ADAT, transferred to a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software, remixed on Garage Band with a MacBook. 8. Hula for Jesus 3:30 Robbie Kaholokula This song written by Chucky and arranged by Robbie has been popular with the hula groups on Kauai. The psalms instruct us to “praise Him in the dance.” Great arrangement by Robbie. Very smooth modulation to the children’s choir. Recorded at Pua Olena Studio in Kauai, Hawaii. Remixed at New Song Music Studio. Girls choir - Lei Ui Kaholokula, Megan Chock, Chelsea Chock, Janelle Leong, Jessica Leong. Bass guitar, guitar played by Robbie Kaholokula. Sequencer programming by Robbie Kaholokula. 9. Singing Alleluia 4:58 I still remember Chucky coming that evening in the church with this song. I liked the scat feel of it and the shuffle. I recorded him on an Alesis ADAT and transferred it digitally to my Mac Powerbook. We used his original recording to produce the final mix. Chucky is on guitar. Jonathan Leong is on bass. The rest of the rhythm section is from Garage Band. David Leong does the back up vocals. This is a favorite of Chucky. 10. Jesus Loves Hawaii 5:05 Chucky Boy Chock/Tammey Faford This song was co-written by Chucky Boy Chock and Tammey Faford, for an island wide church event called, “Jesus Loves Kauai.” I was very moved by the hook line, “Jesus loves Kauai,” and felt that it was a word to the islands. Jesus does really love us and has a purpose for the islands. So we changed the title to Jesus Love Hawaii, but kept the same lyrics. Recorded on an Alesis ADAT, transferred to a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software, remixed on Garage Band with a MacBook. 11. As I Worship Mighty Jesus 5:36 Chucky Boy Chock On guitar is Chucky Boy Chock. Jonathan Leong on bass. David Leong on keyboards. David Leong and Jessica Leong are on back up vocals. Recorded on an Alesis ADAT, transferred to a Mac Powerbook using Audiodesk software, remixed on Garage Band with a MacBook. 12. Iesu 3:16 Robbie Kaholokula This is another song written as an opening to one of the Praise Concerts. It was to have a production style opening with hula dancers and a festive feel. I think Robbie does a masterful job of creating colors and rhythms that capture interest and evoke passion. I love the French horn line in the orchestration, the change of minor to major at the end, the Hawaiian rhythms, and the great guitar work. Words by Chucky Boy Chock. Music by Robbie Kaholokula. Arranged by Robbie Kaholokula. Recorded at Pua Olena Studio in Kauai, Hawaii. Remixed at New Song Music Studio. Girls choir - Lei Ui Kaholokula, Megan Chock, Chelsea Chock, Janelle Leong, Jessica Leong. Bass guitar, guitar played by Robbie Kaholokula. Sequencer programming by Robbie Kaholokula.
