Flight of Raphtonitis is ethnomusicologist Dr. Will Connor’s first full length release of his dark ambient project 'Seesar’. Connor says “the music on the album was created using musical approaches put forth by Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo to honor H. P. Lovecraft,” the literary figure regularly cited as being the father of modern horror.

The CD features performances on household items, such as shelf brackets, pot lids, and a bicycle to enhance the extended techniques used on traditional percussion. Many of the drums that appear on the album were built by Connor himself as part of his ethnomusicology research during his masters and Ph.D. studies. Connor states the sounds generated using these instruments emulates both textures promoted by Futurism and the dark, nightmarish creatures and situations found within the works of Lovecraft. “Both figures have been an extremely important in the development of experimental music and literature, to me personally, as well as to countless other musicians, artists, and writers working today. I hope my music does them justice,” says Connor.
