The William Baker Festival Singers is a 50-voice semi-professional chorale based in Kansas City. Created in 1998 the ensemble has toured throughout the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast with performances in some of America’s finest concert halls and churches, including Trinity Wall Street Church in New York City, Helzberg Hall in Kansas City, St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans, St. James Cathedral in Chicago, Miller Chapel at Princeton Theological Seminary, and the historic Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta. The Choral Foundation was formed in 1990 in Atlanta to support the work of the original Festival Singers, created there in 1985, and to enable the growth of the choral arts nationwide. Based in Kansas City since 1998, the Choral Foundation is currently comprised of over a dozen performing organizations based in three states, involving over 600 singers a year. From its home in northeastern Kansas the William Baker Choral Foundation sponsors The Institute for Healthy Singing, Amber Waves Music Publishing, an active program of Student Interns and Choral Scholars, and the Jane Sullivan Choral Resource Library.
