The Steoples is the latest installment in the continued collaboration between GB and A Race of Angels, two revered and mysterious forces in the Los Angeles music scene. Here they offer four soulful electronic pieces as relevant on the dancefloor as they are in headphones. The EP gets off to an energetic start with "Nature of the Soul," an ode to divine love in the form of spiritual creative inspiration. "Got to Be Right" is a moody, thought-provoking uptempo exploration, while "Riding on Light" brings the energy even higher into a joyous realm of syncopated rhythms and colorful waves of analog synthesis. The closing track, "Even So," is a beat-heavy downtempo piece that may be the most serious offering of the EP. Short and sweet, The Steoples EP is, if nothing else, a powerful first offering and a taste of things to come from these two creative minds.
