ELORPS - Leads vox and Rhythm guitar MiKEY BASTARD - Lead guitar, backing vox SAMSON "Dr.Rockstar" NAND - Bass, backing vox LYNDON STRANDQUIST - Drums Conceptualized in late 2006 in Calgary, Alberta, and formed in early 2007, The Press Gang started out with original members Elorps formerly of Hail Damage, Mikey Bastard formerly of The Broken Soldiers, Glen Murdock (bass), and Davey Wasted (drums) both former members of The Inhalers. The band had been formed to facilitate a heavier lean in songwriting from Elorps' position within Hail Damage. A very rough start was accompanied by a lot of beer, and then alot of beer was accompanied by heavier music. Time and circumstance turned the band from a good time drink your face off party Punk band, into a full blown heavy force to be reckoned with, especially live. The boys got their shit together quickly, and after releasing the demo "Demotronicus 2007", and the live album "LIVE at The Stetson:Warts and All", the band quickly gained a reputation as a good time to see and drink live! With Glen Murdock leaving the band, Samson "Dr.Rockstar" Nand (of The Gypsy Bears), joined on bass duties and took the band to a new level of creativity and speed. Quickly capitalizing on Nand's quick and creative treatment of the early songs, the band set their sights on the studio to lay rest their 'classic' tracks. The band went into the studio in the Summer of 2008, and laid down 13 tracks. Drummer Davey Wasted would leave the band in December, but not before leaving his mark on the classic first release. Early 2009 saw the release of their first self titled debut "The Press Gang", the band lays down it's previous history with 13 classic tracks. BEHOLD THE FUTURE!!! With the acquisition of new drummer Lyndon Strandquist, formerly of The Turrettes, Deadman's Hand, and The Madcowboys, the band entered a new chapter of faster, tighter, and speedier songwriting. With this new line-up, anything is now possible, and the band is taking it as far as they can go with new songwriting forces and chemistry that will filter into their next studio album due to start recording in late 2009.
