Daniel Verhagen joins the Chocolat Records catalogue with his debut CR release "Sivana". His featured arrangement starts of with a with holding organ, loose shaker, and nostalgic vocal stabs, creating anticipation to be met with the drums and baseline. Moving percussion hits guides us through this balearic and thought inducing number. Lush leads progress into a percussive synth lead, driving into the break where spaced guitar pics direct us into the second drop. A beautiful exhibition of melodies, strings, capturing baseline and grooving percussion. The second offering on the EP "Tyn" starts off with a break beat kick, accompanied by a deep filling pad. Atmosphere is present with grand piano styling. Panned shakers add cadence to this already rhythmic piece. Obscure violins are introduced which match attractively with the piano and pads. To finish off Daniel Verhagen's EP, Jepe lends his hand at his rendition of "Sivana". With a more direct approach, we are met with drums which build to warm and inviting pads, followed by the lush leads found in the original. The guitar pics are found to be the theme, which travel with moving strings. Percussive synth work which adds a certain drive alongside the drums.
