简介
The Beat Daddys The Beat Daddys, a four-man Mississippi-based Southern Rock and Blues band, are arguably one of the best touring bands in the region today. Having recorded three CD's for Malaco/Waldoxy Records in Jackson, Mississippi, their music is a large blend of blues and rock and roll that has been crafated into a sound that is uniquely their own. They call their music "Southern rockin' blues with a soulful attitude." The original Beat Daddys band was formed by Larry Grisham in Evansville, Indiana in the mid 1980's and released a self-produced album prior to signing with Malaco. Personnel changes took place sporadically over the years with Britt Meacham joining Grisham in 1995. Meacham, a native of Memphis, with a 30-year tie to Alabama, was a member of the Capitol Records' act "Jackson Highway" from Muscle Shoals. He toured with blues legend Little Milton, and provided the guitar licks on Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll". The rhythm section is comprised of Beaumont, TX native, Bobby Summers on bass, and Paul Scott of Fort Payne, Alabama on percussion. Bobby is a tremendously talented bassist and singer and has played all over the country before joining the Beat Daddys. Paul is an excellent drummer, and has played with many top notch acts before joinig forces with the Beat Daddys. The Beat Daddys' three Malaco/Waldoxy releases "No, We ain't from Clarksdale", "South to Mississippi" and "Delta Vision" have received excellent reviews in rock and blues publications across the country. The albums feature Grisham's strong writing talents, while showing the diversity of his musical tastes, ranging from full throttle blues-rock to haunting ballads. They have toured Europe, Asia and the Pacific including places such as South Korea, Japan, Greenland, Iceland, the Marshall and Hawaiian islands.
