Not much happens in Cumbria. Shops close early and the glorious landscape is scattered with sheep. Occasionally in the small town of Sedbergh though (located near Junction 37 on the M6) you can hear a noise. That noise is usually the sound of 'Rich and The Poor'. Founded by Richard David Thomas Wilson in 2012 this band is a four piece Pop, Punk, Rock band made up of life long friends Rich, Joel, Pat and Hayley. ​ Touring around the North has given the band a small following, mainly on their home turf. Playing a variety of covers often with their own unique spin on them they also are proud to play their own songs. Richards song writing is a healthy display of what can be done with simple chords and melodies. Stemming from American Punk/ Rock roots. The added touch is the soaring vocals of Hayley Forknall who along with a tight rhythm section (Joel & Pat) makes this band is eye catching and enjoyable. They finished recording their debut EP 'Let's Go Nowhere Together' in the winter of 2014. It is now done and dusted and their debut single I'll Be waiting has kicked up a storm on local radio BBC Cumbria making their track of the week. Along with that track their a five others which really show the different aspects of the band.
