简介
Time passes, and for many, The Steppes are a distant but bright memory of the '80s and '90s psych scene. As one of the most unusual Voxx bands, in that they weren't informed by garage-punk, and even possessed early '70s influences amongst the folk and psych, it was a pity they never achieved what they were due. Maybe on another label they could have been REM or Oasis, but then that's the hard knocks of rock 'n' roll. It's never deterred John Fallon either, who still plays Steppes-like material with help from his son, Cromm and Rich Coffee (ex-Unclaimed and Thee Fourgiven). Nelson Bragg (Brian Wilson Band) even turns up. If Fallon now dressed more like a dapper Steve McQueen, his music is still of the pastoral paisley hew, and although a bit ragged and rambling in places, the good songs equal anything he made first time around. -- Jon 'Mojo' Mills, Editor in Chief, Shindig Magazine, No. 46 Mar/Apr 2015, England The new album by John Fallon of The Steppes, twelve tracks that are much in the style of that 1980's psychedelic band. Included here are remixes of Picture Yourself Today and Theme for Steve McQueen and two live tracks Master James and No Names Yet For Henry. For You Girl, Alone and (Live In A) Garbage Can, and Yes, You Are are especially strong tracks and are my favourite songs. A five out of 5 stars for this excellent album. If you are a fan of 1960's psychedelic music you should get this album! -- Mr. G Bligh, Leeds, England (reviewer)
