简介
In 1967, the Teatro Comunale in Florence, decided to re-stage the legendary ballet Excelsior for the XXXth season of the Florence Maggio Musicale. The new production of Excelsior was performed on schedule on 27th June 1967. The musical revision was by Fiorenzo Carpi and Bruno Nicolai, conductor Franco Mannino, director Filippo Crivelli, scenery and costumes (more than 500!) by Giulio Coltellacci and choreography by Ugo Dell'Ara. Among the principal performers were Carla Fracci (Civilisation), Ludmilla Tcherina (Light), Ugo Dell'Ara (Obscurantism) and Attilio Labis (Slave). The performance was a resounding public success and the critics were almost unanimous in acknowledging that Excelsior was an outstanding documentary record of Italian fin de siècle society.
