简介
Some artists have 50 songs they trim to 15 when releasing a record. This is far from accurate for Eric Anderson's debut. These are 10 carefully crafted songs; in fact, Eric hasn't written much more than these over the past decade. These are the ones that count. They speak of open roads and freedom, and of dark rooms and loneliness. Pop-piano, jazz-ballad, singer-songwriter acoustic arrangements support honest emotion, calculated choices, and relentless hope. Make a coffee, open a beer, and enjoy this one. All songs written, arranged, produced, and performed by Eric Anderson (except where noted). Drums on Tracks 2, 3, 4, 9 performed by Dave Berka. Backing vocals on Track 4 performed by Brian Anderson. Saxophone on Track 10 performed by Bryce Eastwood. Track 8 written and performed by Bruce Springsteen. Used with permission. Recorded at our apartment in Wauwatosa, WI. All tracks mastered by Todd Scott. All art, design, and photography by Nate Bruk. Though the album cover displays only one name, there are many names which share responsibility for making all this happen. Thanks to DDHKB for his willingness to grind through 6 hours of drum tracking before moving out of state; to Nasty Nate for brainstorming and executing great ideas for design and cover art; to Brian for agreeing to sing on his bro’s album just one week after having wisdom teeth removed; to Todd for his lending of equipment, time, and patience with answering all my texts and questions regarding mixing, mic placement, and a zillion other things; to Bryce for choosing notes and scales which make a song incredibly more interesting; to Audrey for lending me her bedroom to record vocals; to my parents for incentivizing piano practice with Super Nintendo play time; to Ashlyn for her generosity and patience in allowing me time and space to pursue things I’m passionate about.
