The first time (la prima volta) for most things can be an adventure. In this case, the collaboration that lasted nearly six years culminates in the only (and early) recording from a warm garage in Reno, Nev. (spring, 2000). Prima Volta had been playing music together for less than two years, and this time would be a creatively prolific one for all of us. Documented only with a 4-track cassette recording and our fond memories, this year, 2011, Bob Conrad rerecorded Rob Borges' new vocal tracks straight through with some new melodies added. Readdressing this project would prove that the adventure of playing and recording music sometimes takes a second effort even after 13 years had passed since Prima Volta first strung the guitars, changed the drum heads, fixed a power cable, and turned on our amps. This is indie rock before indie rock was cool.
