On the 10th anniversary of Sept 11, David Baynes and Joe Bartoldus wanted to pay tribute to all those affected from the tragic events. Meeting an online collaboration site, Joe composed and uploaded some wonderful guitar parts for the music community to play along with. David added the vocal tracks and the song evolved from there. Joe being from New York, personally touched by the events as his child's friend lost his father that day (Ed Geraghty, Battalion 9 Chief NYFD) suggested we dedicate it to the fallen firefighters and any proceeds from the song be donated to Uniformed Firefighter's Association, Widows' and Children's Fund. David, living north of the border in Canada also offered up a worthy charity on the Canadian side. "Soldier On" was created for injured military soldiers returning home from the Gulf. We both offer thanks to all the men & women who have put themselves in harm's way in the spirit to help others.
