简介
These songs are thought up by lead singer and rhythm guitarist Steve Coffey who dreams up soul searching lyrics that accompany a rousing, an-themic choral climax. Some of these songs have been in existence now for time, some not. Each one has a style and a sound that can instantly be listened to with ease. The songs are brought to the rehearsal studio where in their own words ‘the magic happens’. Dale Farrow, the bass guitarist adds what can only be described as genius bass licks that sit nicely within the songs yet soar up to heights not reached by anyone in the last 20 years. The harmonies and backing vocals are so neatly inserted into the songs that it is almost ghost like. These are lead by the drummer, Ged Marciniak. The icing on the cake is, Steve Millington. This man gracefully crafts out lead guitar riffs, high fret board chords and harmonics that simply add so much more to a song than any lyric or instrument can. Steve provided the riff and music for ‘Guardian Angel’. Taken from a sample he produced a good 10 years ago, brought it up in a session once, gave it to Steve Coffey who came up with the lyrics and the song structure. The way all good bands work. As a team. No ego, no self-importance, just a craving to get their music listened to and loved. Without each individual input from the lads, you simply wouldn’t get the sound that they have managed to find here. This sound is not made by an instrument, odd considering they are a live outfit. The sound they found was in the voice. The voice of each member. The voice of each member searching for the other, finding that link and in an almost effortless grace, the harmonies can be heard, devoured, cried at and consumed by all who hear them. Take away the amps, put down the Gibsons, pick up the acoustic and ask for ‘Guardian Angel’, and what you hear then will take your breath away. A famous American Rock guitarist once said ‘a song can be described as great if you can plug in and rock out a stadium, or unplug and serenade a baby’. This song can do both. They are ready for the next step now. They deserve to be taken seriously with this EP and serious they are. Their music appeals to all. The music touches all and the music confirms that the British Music Industry finally has a band to say ‘ok, go and do us proud’. They can follow in the footsteps of heroes previous, The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who, R.E.M., The Red Hot Chilli Peppers to name a few. Their sound has been linked to Simon and Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and The Eagles, yet their sound remains their own. It is a sound that they have searched for and found. Not many bands can do that. Not many bands can honestly say they found what sound they wanted.
