简介
I write songs about love, life, sex, loss, gain, power, ambition and pain that has turned into something else. I play piano because I write songs. I write songs because I am forced to by my muse. Sometimes I get up at night and have to write something down because my body won’t let me sleep if I don’t. Some of the songs come whole. They flow out onto the paper- lyrics first. Sometimes the music comes first and it takes months to finish the lyrics. I am a pawn and a slave to my work/play. I am a willing accomplice in a beautiful, scary dance. It’s not like I think it’s going to change the world- just my inner planet- and my family’s, and maybe a listener or two, for a minute or three. I am in love with life and my friends and my children and their children and the earth. I want to be a good person and find my talents and gifts and give them back to my community with humility and grace. Forgive me for my indiscretions and my shortcomings. I keep learning. Elizabeth Rose sits at the piano and sings to her audience. She creates a mood, sets an atmosphere, creates ambience and inspires sophistication. This is music for sensual adults. Songwriter, singer, pianist, Elizabeth Rose is an Equity actor who starred in the hit regional premier of “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at the Denver Performing Arts Center. In 2005, she starred in the regional premier and toured with the cast of “Newsical the Musical”. Rose just finished a full length feature film, Juncture, directed by James Seale. She is also a widely recognized commercial actor. Rose is represented by Radical Artists Agency in Denver. Rose has toured and built a solid live act that is available for booking. Available on disc, the nine song collection “Still Pretending” was written at an acoustic piano, and has the flavors of classical piano, soul cabaret and Broadway Blues. Sexy “Act II” reflects a solid band dynamic and matured execution. The band tours as a solo, duo, trio, or four piece ensemble. Rose’s live shows include bass, drums and solo instrumentalists on cello, violin and sax. The all original repertoire is musically appropriate for an eclectic mix of venues: martini lounges, banquet halls, private parties, theaters, jazz or R&B clubs, and ballrooms.
