The song beautiful addresses a social issue not so much a religious stance. It addresses the pressures women face from social media, society and mainstream marketing to be something or someone they were not intended to be. Women are now accepting the role as the hunter not the hunted, they are now supposed to use their sexuality, under the face of what the world calls 'sexual freedom', under the logic that if a man can do it so can a woman. they are bombarded by all kinds of 'unnatural' reasons for them being or becoming something that they are not. Simply put, if you have to defend a behaviour or anything for that matter it is simply unnatural. For example if i say the sky is blue on a sunny afternoon, i dont have to defend that. no one will question that. if i say the sky is pink there will be questions asked simply because thats un natural. We find that there are all kinds of 'justifiable' reasons that society has drummed up for a woman flaunting her sexuality and it has gone too far. Women fashion has taken it to a level that is astounding under the umbrella of sexual freedom, even equal rights. Dressing half naked is seen as a freedom for women. is this natural. 'Beautiful' addresses this issue head on. It stresses that a woman is not beautiful because of the length of her clothes or even the way she powders her nose. She is beautiful simply because she is 'WOMAN', a wonder of JAH creation. It compares the life of a woman as a diamond. the true value of a diamond is not the way it glimmers. Its value comes from the fact that it is formed deep in the earth, hidden, under intense pressure. it tells women that your real beauty is ur moral stance, what comes from within. It addresses the social media debocle where our young women see it fit to pose in revealing positions to garner some form of attention. Is this song relevant at this point?
