Cari Hutson and her backing band, 'Good Company' are based in the "Live Music Capitol of the World", Austin, TX, and that means something to them. "We like to perform, we like the 'Show' aspect of show business," says bassist Eric Lenington. "We bring our energy, the crowd brings an energy and we want to give what we get." Cari Hutson left college to pursue music after one of her professors called her out. "I was in the Musical Theatre department and we did a children's play for the local elementary. After the performance, my professor came up and asked me what I was doing here. I told him I wanted to be on stage and sing and I needed to have a degree to prove it. He told me, 'There is nothing that I can possibly teach you. You have it. Stop wasting our time, go out and do it.'" In August of 2013, Cari Hutson joined the regional cast of the Broadway-bound musical, "One Night with Janis Joplin" to perform as the Janis Joplin understudy and 'Joplinaire' (Janis' backup singers). When the show traveled to San Jose, CA, Hutson moved into the alternate position as the role was wearing down the lead.
