South Londoners deXter Bentley host the weekly Hello Goodbye show on London's provocative arts radio station Resonance FM where they provide a platform for underground performers to play live radio sessions. They also run live nights at Soho's 12 Bar Club and The Half Moon in Herne Hill. When not doing this, they mix acoustic instruments with observational songs marked by the very English tenor of Richard Bentley. Guitarist Joss Cope will be known to readers of brother Julian's Head On and Repossessed autobiographies. Track 1 of their debut single is an acoustic pop grower and a tribute to New York Doll Arthur Kane. This song is a veritable earworm after a couple of plays, particularly the vocal harmonies and descending chords of its main hookline. The other tracks include Swansong, a more downbeat mandolin-driven shanty.
