简介
There are not many times when someone like Lindsey comes along; beautiful, talented, with a heart breaking voice and thought provoking lyrics. All this topped off by a great down to earth likeableness and an incredibly hard working spirit. Fed up with record companies trying to mould her in to their agendas, in October 2008 Lindsey founded 'Pick an Orange Project' and raised £12.5k purely from fans pockets to make this debut album. Written and produced by Lindsey herself, she is surely a modern day artist who is doing it herself from grass roots up. The outcome is an album full of catchy pop tunes, with some often profound moments. Lindsey is rapidly making more and more fans with her infectious take on pop/rock. Buy this album and be the next to be taken in. More on Pick an Orange Project: Lindsey pioneered Pick an Orange Project or 'POP' as its more affectionately termed in October 2008. This worked by allowing fans to purchase either an 'orange' (a whole song) or a 'segment of the orange' (the song was split in to 10 'segments'). A segment cost a fan £100 and an orange £1000. After tentatively launching the project Lindsey was overwhelmed how quickly the money came in and in just 5 months over £12k had been raised. Lindsey says, "I was completely amazed at how much some people were putting in, at first it was just my mates and family with the odd £100 which was great but then people from all around the world were putting money in. I'd wake up one day and there would be a cheque on the doormat for £2k from someone I'd never met who had just heard my music online. Literally! It was just great." POP's success is put down to the impact that Lindsey's songs make on people's hearts. Often writing about deep issues such as eating disorders, untimely death and abuse, Lindsey's songs are often on topics that pierce right in to the heart. This is something Lindsey is proud of, "I'm just writing what I see. I see a lot of rubbish stuff in this world, things that go on that make no sense and that confuse me. I'm not one of these poetic lyricists and I don't think I'm one of these throw away lyricists that write about love everyday. There is a place for both of these but I think I'm somewhere in between, just talking about what I go through as a 20-something in today's world and what I see my mates going through. Sometimes it's great but other times it's just not. I hope I'm just an honest lyricist." It's this honesty that is gaining fans wherever she goes, along with her incredible stage presence and strong vocals. A graduate from Paul McCartney's 'Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts', Lindsey has taken time learning her craft. It would seem now the time has come to show the world what that is.
