简介
New York City's Tryptophan wrote, recorded and mixed this album over a 3 year, from 2014 to 2017. Starting with Ron Hill's very minimal and basic acoustic demo's recorded during a snowstorm on his phone. The band, Frank Cavallo (drums), Ron Hill (vocal, guitar, bass) ,Steven Pepe (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Nick Purpura(guitar) developed their ideas thru repeated demoing mixed with some live performance. The basic tracks were recorded at legendary NYC comic book store "JHU Comic Books" with overdubs recorded in a variety of locations. Tryptophan was aided by long time collaborator Alex Armitage (who supplied the audio collages, recording and mixing), and bass playing by renowned musician Matt Wilson. The album is a celebration of death and life, with some titles like "The Tone" or "Mindfck" having some dark themes, mixed with off the wall songs about characters like "The DVD Lady" or "Mister Skill".
