简介

Whimsical Surf is for the rock-n-roller who enjoys Wild Surf Guitar with whimsy or the classical music lover who would enjoy a rock-n-roll change of pace. Each song has its own special groove and humorous attitude. There is no room for a vocalist, as the guitar takes the stage--you will never wonder if a vocalist will begin. Some recordings include horn sections, organs, or rhythmic voices, but these are a guitar synthesizer. With the first song it's fun and easy to "Dance Like a Robot." It's ok, they're not actually aware of sarcasm...yet. "Sugarplum" is a guitar duet based on Tchaikovsky's theme, with dizzying guitar speed and both beauty and strangeness. How does he do that? What's it like to surf with the former Vice-President? Try "Waterboard Surfing." Remember to hold your breath. Duck? "Mountain King" takes Grieg's traditional theme and twists it in many directions with our wicked multi-drive lead guitar. This version is the King of the Mountain King. Just when you think it's as heavy as could be...it gets heavier....and heavier--watch your eyebrows rise ! In "Froggy's Magic Twanger" our lead guitarist mercilessly whangs the vibrato arm, eddying far beyond the dwain. This is no electronic effect--it is like John Henry and his hammer. This song is inspired by Froggy Gremlin and his recipes for rubber cement. So what is "Polkzart"? It's a polka of Mozart's 40th Symphony. Grab your partner and polka. Approved by the Polkaholics. In the "Last Laugh" duet one guitar plays surf-rock while the other plays fast blues-rock; which one gets the last laugh? Actually, you do. "Hot Sauce" is all about that red spicy tabasco stuff--or is it? The break features the multi-drive lead guitar. Water, please! "Surfin' the Stars" is space rock surf-rock, a blast off into outer space. Hold on to your underwear! "Puppetor" is the puppet who turned to control the puppeteer, the "worms go in and the worms go out," the tune that would make Alfred Hitchcock squirm and quiver. Surf music a Gounod. "Head-Spin" is a wild attack of steely fingers on the multi-drive guitar, exorcism on a motorcycle. Head-spin goes at 140 rpm. It reminds us of Satan Loose University in St. Louis (say it quickly and no one will notice what you actually said). "Undertow" takes the 60s surf sound into the 21st century with double-string 15-note chromatic runs that strike like 20 foot waves. This piece shreds guitar picks into dust. "Lost in the 3rd Dimension" is a coast of craggy cliffs towering over pounding waves. It is glaringly beautiful and expressive surf odyssey that illustrates the artfulness of surf guitar. It shows influences by Mendelssohn. Poor Mendelssohn. "Beerocracy" is a guitar duet (and sometimes a trio) suggesting rowdy knee-dancing Cossacks in a tavern. In Cossackvania or wherever it was. Drink up, and Dance. "Fowl Ball" depicts rowdy knee-dancing poultry ranging freely. Run! Run! Run! Fantwango" uniquely combines rapid fingerpicking with the heavily harmonic multi-drive guitar, it is a combination of surf-rock, flamenco style, and jaw-dropping guitar proficiency. It was a challenge to master, but then we wrote it that way. The jolly "hi ho Silver...away!" theme in "Masked Man" closes the album, in a rendition whose frenetic energy exceeds a complete symphony orchestra and defies imitation. Accept no substitute. But then, who could substitute for the Insanitizers? No one, we are originals and so is our music. Some songs have the same names as in our "Dark Surf Collection"; these are reworked. Most songs are completely new. The sound engineering is polished and clear. This CD is our musical business card. We are available to perform in Oregon and Washington state, and possibly for enormous audiences elsewhere. Get Insanitized Now.
