简介
Lightwave is a French electro-acoustic band. Many of their CD's are inspired by centuries-old writings. The music is ambient and abstract, not adhering to traditional song structures. They try to remain true to the visions of the authors and scientists who inspire them to create. Mundus Subterraneus is based on a book by Athanasius Kircher, a 17th-century Roman scholar. Kircher was obsessed in exploring the natural phenomena of the earth. His interest in volcanoes was such that he once had himself lowered into the crater of Mt. Vesuvius -- shortly before it erupted! The music on the Mundus Subterraneus CD is dark and rather atonal, but there's a lot going on beneath the surface. The whole thing sounds great over headphones!
