简介
Amy Rude recorded (in two salt producing,heat-stroked days) an album listeners classify as a “grower.” Snakeheart was a collaboration with friends Violinist Vicki Brown, Tom Moore, Amy Shapiro and Golden Boots (Soiled Gold Records). Snakeheart follows 2004’s Comfort Cage (recorded in Portland, Ore.) Snakeheart sheds the dark scribbles where Comfort Cage leaves off and replaces it with a solitary hopefulness. Integrated into the destitute, bone-dry folk are off-kilter melodies, haunting stories and delicate confessionals resulting in an eerily alive album. Rude has opened for and/or played with: Jesse Sykes, Scout Niblett, Kristin Hersh, Inara George, Okkervil River, Nicolai Dunger, Ida, Marie Frank, , Leyna Noel, Lana Rebel (Juanita Family Singers) and Howe Gelb. Rude plays regularly in her haunt of Tucson, AZ and tours regularly. Currently she is recording another album in the middle of the Mojave desert. “Rude sounds somewhere between a female Will Oldham and a feminine early-nineties Stephen Malkmus with extreme back porch, lo-fi leanings” -Melissa Smith, Venus Magazine “There’s a certain ramshackle quality here that charms rather than distracts, and Rude’s delicate but strong voice grows on you with each listen.” –Stephen Siegel, Tucson Weekly “Rude's songs shine” --Annie Holub, Tucson Weekly Contact Amy Rude at: www.myspace.com/amyrude amyrude@excite.com www.soildgoldrecords.com
