Lois Gillespie is a Winnipeg based songwriter and vocalist who has honed her craft in diverse areas, from performing with a country/bluegrass trio to singing jazz, or lending harmonies to projects, her unique powerful vocal expression and fingerstyle guitar have found a place in intimate venues around the city including local coffee shops, jazz bars and open mics. Whether interpreting classic country, bluegrass, jazz or singing her own material her eclectic music stylings soothe and inspire her audiences. Since 2002 she has also regularly performed at the Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals working with Artists in Healthcare Manitoba and works as a vocal coach. In 2005 Lois released her first CD of original material, Sensible Shoes, an inspiring collection of songs that takes the listener on an emotional and spiritual journey through heartache, loss, and joy.
