A long time listener of Johnny Cash, Tom Petty, John Hiatt, and Bob Dylan, Cody Goggin spent his teen years wondering why his friends would laugh at his taste in music. He didn't understand how they couldn't hear the honesty and the pureness of what he was listening too. Having been born into a family of amateur guitar pickers, he knew right away that he wanted to make music that held the same kind of weight and honesty that his heroes had made. The struggle continued as he made his way through a local music scene that was high on alternative rock and pop tunes that Cody couldn't quite grasp. Determined, he played his own original songs in bars and parties where singer-songwriters didn't often appear. But having plenty of life to base his songs on and having a grasp of how people connect to words, Goggin slowly began building a fan-base.
