Monarke, now a major mainstay, returns to the Steyoyoke imprint with this haunting and daedalian release, “Liberate”. This potent 2- track EP tells a spacey story, whose ambiance will surely have you flying and ping-ponging amongst the clouds. The first of the two tracks, “Liberate”, sets a motif of cinematic and evocative atmospheres grounded to a bouncy eighth note groove. Its highly texturized stabs and swirling delays only give way to the alluring entrancing vocal via the lovely Alya V. The soul-stirring mood is continued through the final piece, “Embrace”. Characterized by its sweet uplifting melody and deeper bass all tied together with swirling soft cymbals and fluttering cloudlike white noise. Immediately, the listener is taken, to even higher heights, by means one can only call “otherworldly”. This, Monarke’s most recent masterpiece “Liberate”, will take the listener on another heavenly journey where the sky, and all of its clouds, is simply not enough.
