Jon Anthony is a Retired Detective Sergeant of the Newark N.J. Police Department. After retiring Jon owned a N.J. Private Investigations company. Jon was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2007 and decided to return to his true passion in life….Music! But lets back track a little! Jon started writing songs while at Don Bosco Technical High School, Paterson, NJ. Jon started several bands and after graduating he decided to really give the music business a shot. To Jons surprise his ex-girlfriends father was an established songwriter, who happened to write "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" by Tony Orlando and Dawn amongst other hits, and he guided Jon to producer Ken Cedar who would help him record his music. With Ken's help Jon went on the sign with an Indie Record Label and had a song called "Stop Playing with My Heart" which was well received by Top 40 radio, namely Z-100 NYC. Jon traveled opening up for acts like SweetSensation, George Lamond, BlackBox as well as various other artists. Jon got signed to a publishing deal with Cherry Lane Music Publishers, NYC. But Jon decided to take his twin brothers advise and get a real job which would be stable. Thats how he became a cop! Jon maintained his friendship with his former producers and after over 20 years of being out of the music business Jon having MS decided to follow his dream of sharing his music with as many people who will listen! That was the short story! LOL…. I have two beautiful children and great parents! Life has been one heck of a roller coaster ride but it took me to where I am today! Sharing my music with YOU!
