Four years in the making this has truly been a labour of love. Inspired by parenthood to take a risk and branch out into vocals after four albums of instrumentals. I had a stock of tracks that I wanted to put vocals to and this seemed an ideal opportunity. The structure of the lyrics gives a nod to this inspiration being at least passingly influenced by children's rhymes - but the music is anchored in my love of great rock music from the likes of Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple. "Kevin Curtis is more than just a fine guitarist, he is also a fine musician" Matheson Kamin The tracks range from classic riff powered songs like "The Clay That Makes a Man" and "Kings of the Blues" (which literally charts all the influences on my guitar playing the challenge is to work out where all the little bits of lead guitar are from), through the funk of "The Cast of This Die" and "Virtuoslow" to the more 'Stonesesque' "Misbegotten Man" and the driving acoustics of "The Storm". "When he plays the slower singing lines the tone is just gorgeous" Over time I will be working through each song giving detailed analysis from the inception to mastering on my website, to share some of the trials and tribulations as well as lessons I have learned in the process.
