Jimmy Atkins hails from western NC, where he makes music in several different facets of life. A worship pastor at a local church, a songwriter at home, and a storyteller abroad, he's gained his following through avenues such as speaking at conferences for the young and old alike, as well as leading the 10-year career of his band, Second Hand City. Now he embarks on yet another adventure with The Pen & The Page. This album, 2 years in the making, is a collection of songs and poetry that have been hidden in the pages of journals...until now. With a heartbeat to share stories and intimate details of each of these songs, Jimmy offers up his first solo project as a means to break down the proverbial "fourth wall" of the stage. Playing anything from acoustic solo shows in the living rooms of homes anywhere to full band concerts with a flare for the conversational part of culture, Jimmy shares music, stories, and life with those he meets. Already hard at work on his next project, he hopes to make The Pen & The Page the first word in this new journal entry.
