Songwriter/ Soloist/ Producer: Juliana So Pianist: Zion Xu Cajon: Will Law Singing buddies: Juliana So/ William Pang/ Jacky Yang/ Charlotte Lin/ Maria Shen The Story behind: In 2015 fall, in my systematic theology class, I learned a theological term, “Permanent Incarnation.” Generally, it means that Christ continues to exist as “incarnate” by united with humanity. When I studied this term for writing an academic paper, a Chinese phrase stood out to me: “祂一直都在”, in English, it means that: “He is with us forever.” What a good news! Christ is still alive in our life in the 21st century! Christ has never left us! He is here! In the same quarter, I was stuck by reading an article, which critiques how contemporary Christian music mainly focuses on praising how Jesus was crucified on the cross, yet neglecting the significance of Christ’s resurrection. My New Testament professor challenged that why not our worship songs could say something about how Jesus’s resurrection make change to our life today? That’s a good idea! Yes, why not I write a worship song to tell about how Jesus’ resurrection makes change to human life? So, I have been starting my journey of praying, studying and exploring to write a corporate worship song that about “Permanent Incarnation” and “Christ’s Resurrection.” Until 2017 March, I temporarily finalized this version of “Our Resurrected King (You are with us forever)” with my limited theological knowledge, interpretation and language. I know God is so much greater than I can comprehend. PS: This song is a part of my Master thesis: "The voices of minor poets." It is my painstaking work. I'm so grateful that I have received lots of help from my Asian artist friends who are in Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore. Thanks my friends very much for your kindly help of recording this song together! It’s so much fun and joyful to worship God together.
