Meet Shawn Camp New Fresh Christian Country Music One Of A Kind From WV.

Born in South Charleston, WV in 1971 and raised in several towns such as Davis Creek, Alum Creek, Sissonville, as well as Charleston. As a child I remember all the other children had Superman, Bat Man, Spider Man and the like as heroes while my heroes were Elvis Presley and Kenny Hinson of the famed Hinson Family gospel music group. I always knew I could sing but was too shy and bashful lacking self confidence, self esteem and self worth due to an abusive childhood . It would have to wait till my senior year in high school 1989. During a class in show choir demonstrating how to express style in your singing the director called for volunteers to come forward and show the class what we believed style to be. So for the sole purpose of impressing a girl I was sweet on, I gave it a shot. We were instructed to sing the first few bars of Amazing Grace. So I just shut my eyes and gave it all I had. As I finished there was silence. I opened my eyes and the eyes of all in the room were wide and their mouths dropped open. Then suddenly they all stood and clapped and cheered! The instructor said "Yupp that's pretty much it!" My confidence sky rocketed
