简介
Andy Dalby - guitarist with The Outer Limits, Charge, Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come, Jack Green, Kiki Dee, Vapour Trails and Camel; and veteran of countless recording sessions both in front of and behind the mixing desk, has finally got around to releasing an album of his own guitar music. "I started this album in the early '80s. Longshore Drift, Steamboats, Map Work, Three to the Pound and Going Home Now were all written then. I recorded demos on a Revox (remember?) with a view to a record deal but got no further than peer accolades and promises. As my career went from potential rock star through session guitarist to recording engineer/producer to video editor I continued to dabble as each new advance in recording technology came along. Drumbo Rules, Over the Bar and Drifting Away were written and recorded initially on a Zoom MRS1608 in the noughties. The rest were written in the last 5 years and recorded using Sonar and Mixcraft. When it came to doing the album all the early tracks were re-recorded from scratch using Mixcraft Pro Studio 7 through a Novation Nio audio interface. The Zoom stuff was imported as .wav files and completed from there. It was all mixed using Mixcraft Pro Studio 7. For the guitar nerds, I used an early '70s Fender Telecaster with a Bigsby and a Seymour Duncan Little '59 in the bridge position, a 2013 Gibson Les Paul '50s Tribute, a Taylor Mini GS, a home made Pawn Shop Offset (Fender copy) for the slide, a Hofner Beatle Bass and an Ibanez GSR200 bass. All the guitar and bass sounds came from Mixcraft and Nio plug ins."
